Field of Mystery Book Group

The Field of Mystery Book Group will meet in the Program Room to discuss this month's selection, My Sweet Girl, by Amanda Jayatissa.  Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.

In My Sweet Girl, Paloma is a young woman who was adopted from an orphanage in Sri Lanka by a family that provided her with the best of everything.  Trying to give back, Paloma offers a room in her home in San Francisco to Arun, an Indian immigrant.  Unfortunately for her, Arun finds out her deepest secret and starts blackmailing her.  More unfortunately, Paloma comes home to find Arun dead in a pool of blood.  When the police come, however, not only is there no body, there's no evidence Arun was ever there at all.  Paloma can't be sure if her secret died with Arun or if there's someone else out there who's willing to destroy everything she's worked her whole life to achieve.
