Field of Mystery Book Group

Join the Field of Mystery Book Group for a discussion of our September selection, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, by the great Agatha Christie. Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.
How can we call ourselves a mystery book group if we don't read at least one Agatha Christie novel? Our selection this month is one of her most famous novels, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. In a small English village, a widow suddenly commits suicide, and immediately afterward her fiance, Roger Ackroyd, is murdered. Everyone in town seems to have a solid alibi with the exception of Ackroyd's missing stepson, but things are not as they seem. Once retired investigator Hercule Poirot gets involved in the case, twists and turns abound, things that seemed certain become less so, leading to the final surprising revelation.
