Field of Mystery Book Group

Join the Field of Mystery Book Group as we discuss our July selection, Better the Blood, by Michael Bennett.  Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

Set in Auckland, New Zealand, the plotline of Better the Blood turns on grievances of the indigenous Maori people after colonization, when one brilliant Maori man starts killing descendants of British officers in revenge for their involvement in the killing of one of his ancestors.  It's up to a skilled but deeply conflicted female Maori police officer to figure out who the next victims will be and stop the man from killing again.

It should be a great discussion of a dark and intriguing book, and there will, as usual, be refreshments.
