Field Notes Book Group

The Field Notes Book Group will meet downstairs in the Program Room to discuss our March selection, Once There Were Wolves, by Charlotte McConaghy. Copies of the book will be available at the circulation desk.
Once There Were Wolves is a novel about an attempt to re-introduce wolves into the Scottish highlands to help heal the ecosystem. However, since the local population lives on sheep herding, people are not happy about the introduction of predators that are as likely to kill sheep as deer. Inti Flynn, one of the biologists on the project, considers people to be worse predators than wolves, so when a local farmer is found dead and she knows the people are going to blame her wolves, she takes steps to protect the wolves, regardless of the dangers this may create for her.
Join us for what promises to be an interesting discussion. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
