Shortlisted for the Booker Prize the year it was published, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves is a novel about a most dysfunctional family.  Once they were almost normal, but that was before Fern, one of the sisters, disapppeared, before Rosemary, our narrator, changed from a bright talkative child into a silent adult, their brother became a fugitive wanted for terrorism and both parents changed into mere shadows of their former selves.  What happened?  The book takes us deep into this intriguing family and their very complicated situation.
