Field Notes Book Group

Join the Field Notes Book Group for a lively discussion of Maria Semple's funny mother-daughter book, Where'd You Go, Bernadette?  Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk.

Bernadette is not your ordinary mother; she's kind of agoraphobic, she despises Seattle (where she lives) and especially her fellow mothers at the pricey school her daughter, Bee, attends. That doesn't mean, as her husband concludes, that there's something seriously wrong with her, and when Bernadette disappears during an "intervention", Bee takes it on herself to find out what happened to her beloved mother.  In the process, she learns a lot about her mother's life and what drove her to her dramatic disappearance.

It's a fun book and we should have a fun meeting.  Refreshments will be available.
