Tuesday, April 4, is National Library Giving Day. It's a one day fundraiser to support The Field Library's STEM Lab programs.
STEM + Library = Lifelong Learning
In the 21st Century, a basic understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) is part of being an informed and engaged citizen.
From climate change to threats to human health and access to clean water, the majority of challenges facing society today – and their solutions – are rooted in STEM. More and more libraries are responding to the need to increase science literacy and support 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, by adding to STEAM programs for patrons of all ages, from pre-school to adults.
