Join the Field of Mystery Book Group for a lively discussion of our December selection, The Maid by Francine Prose. Copies will be available at the Circulation Desk.

Molly isn't like other people.  She doesn't read social clues well and can't understand the way other people think.  Her grandmother used to help her interpret the world, but her grandmother has died and Molly is kind of lost without her.  She works as a maid in a very nice hotel, and she's good at her job, a thorough and careful cleaner.  So when she comes to a suite and finds the inhabitant dead in his bed, she's thrown for a loop.  Because of her unusual responses, she finds herself the chief suspect in the man's death, and only through the help of friends she didn't know she had can she untangle herself and find out who the real killer is.
