Join the Field Notes Book Group as we discuss our March selection, An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us, by Ed Yong.  Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

Pulitzer Prize winning author Yong turns from the world of microbes to the world of animal senses, and reveals an amazing variety of ways in which animals perceive the world, many of which aren't even possible for human beings.  Instead of judging animals by how well their five senses line up with ours, Yong suggests we are missing out on a whole universe of sensations and experiences of the world which animals perceive but we can't. The book is filled with fascinating bits of information and gorgeous pictures.
