Join the Field of Mystery Book Group as we discuss our first book of 2025, Dennis Lehane's A Drink Before the War.  Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

A Drink Before the War is the first book in Lehane's Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro series.  The two are private investigators and longtime friends who work from Dorchester, a tough Boston neighborhood.  When they are hired to find a cleaning woman who allegedly walked off with some confidential documents from a state senator's office, the matter seems straightforward.  Unfortunately, finding the cleaning woman is the easy part of the case; the hard part is keeping themselves, and her, alive once they have found her and begin investigating what those documents were and who they implicate. 

We always have vigorous discussions, and of course there will be coffee and refreshments.
